In kind gifts
Our boarding houses, classrooms, library, farm, garden, arts and crafts spaces, costume closet and kitchen are always in need of in-kind donations. On-Going Fundraising/Development:
Arthur Morgan School just celebrated our 60th Anniversary! And now that we are 60 years old, we are looking into the future to grow our Annual, Scholarship and Endowment Funds. Each fund has a very specific purpose in order to serve our students and the school’s stability for many more years to come!
Which of the following funds match your philanthropic interests?
Annual Fund – Annual Fund contributions are applied towards the operating budget for the current school year. This allows us to keep tuition rates down for our student families, while still funding all of our curriculum elements, educational outdoor trips, art, crafts and theatre works as well as our farm and garden program.
Scholarship Fund – Many of our students depend on scholarship funds to complete their financial obligation to attend AMS. The Scholarship Fund is annually used for the critical needs of our student families. Most school years see 65%-72% of our student body attending on scholarships. This fund ensures that any student who would like to attend AMS is able to do so!
Our Annual Scholarship Benefit Online Auction will be happening November 25th-27th, 2022.
Ernest and Elizabeth Morgan Endowment Fund for Scholarship – Interest and dividends from this invested fund is used for scholarships annually. And, as this fund grows, we can reduce tuition and foster greater student diversity by putting more endowment into programming. Investments are managed by Friends Fiduciary Corporation in the socially-responsible Quaker Growth and Income Fund. The current market value is 1.2 million dollars. Our goal to build this endowment to 2 million by 2027.
Jane M. Hatcher Endowment Fund for Scholarship – Established in memory of Jane M. Hatcher who believed in the educational philosophy and extracurricular activities that are integral to AMS, and who was a supporter of the School for many years. Jane taught in the public school system and at community colleges in Georgia and North Carolina, as well as at Penland School of Craft. She strongly believed in creating an inclusive learning environment. Therefore, this scholarship fund will prioritize students who come from diverse settings. Investments are managed by Friends Fiduciary Corporation in the socially-responsible Quaker Growth and Income Fund.
